About

My interest in the dynamics of human growth and change is rooted in education -- both formal academic learning and worldly, lived experience. At university, I studied Comparative Literature and Counseling Psychology, earning a masters degree in each discipline. Simultaneously, I lived and traveled in Europe, the South Pacific, Asia, Canada, the UK, and the US, working as an educator, writer, and journal editor before developing a dedicated full-time practice in counseling and coaching in 2016.

I have helped many individuals and couples address major life challenges, relationship problems, professional transformations, burnout episodes, and a wide range of other psychological and personal concerns. I work with adults of all ages, couples, and groups.

My counseling approach is rooted in Humanistic, Constructive, and Psycho-dynamic theory and methodology. This means that when we work together, we will cash in on the proven effectiveness of building a trusted connection that allows for discovery and change. This works best for individuals who prefer to collaborate rather than be directed or told what to do. I do not give advice; rather, we explore what is possible and actionable.

Because change is neither linear nor easy, I cultivate openness, honesty, and humor with my clients.  I carefully consider and respond to who you are and what is valuable to you, as we identify new ways of looking at problems and solutions.

Acceptance, creativity, flexibility, and freedom-of-choice are also professional values I bring to my work. As you progress, you may begin to find that you have surprising capacities that allow you to examine the way you are thinking, feeling, and doing so that you can choose directions for growth and shift your life in realistic and meaningful ways.
