Payment can be made either out-of-pocket or through insurance coverage. The rates are slightly different, depending on which option you use.
*Co-pays for HMSA & Blue Cross / Blue Shield clients range from $12 – $25 per session. We can check our coverage and co-pay. Just ask!
* For clients paying out-of-pocket:
Individual session: $120
Couples session: $150
Co-pays or full payment is due at the time of service and will be processed at the time of each session or shortly after.
Insurance
We accept the following insurances:
HMSA, HMSA Quest Integration (Medicaid), and Blue Cross / Blue Shield
If you HMSA you services to be covered except for a co-pay. A co-pay may apply for each session or you may have a deductible. It is your responsibility to know what services are covered by your policy. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy and counseling services.
If you have HMSA Quest, your sessions will be covered in full.
I’d recommend asking these questions of your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- If so, do I have a per-session co-pay, and what is it?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
Payment
We accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. Checks can be made out to Kerith G. Edwards. On your bank or credit card statements, the item will appear as “professional services.”
Cancellation Policy
Consistent appointments are essential to successful therapy treatment. Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. It is important to arrive on time as the length of a typical session is just under an hour, and missed time will not be made up for
at the end of the session.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel or reschedule with us by phone at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be billed for the full rate of the missed session. For example, if your session is scheduled for 3 pm Wednesday, you would need to call us to cancel or reschedule no later than 3 pm on Tuesday.
